Dating back to the late sixteenth century Rydal Mount house was the last residence of the famous lakeland poet Williams Wordsworth. This was his best loved family home for the greater part of his life. It was here that he wrote many of his poems, revised and improved much of his earlier works and published the final version of his most famous poem 'Daffodils'. The house, still belongs to descendants of Wordsworth and retains a lived-in, family atmosphere.
